Mobility Access Modifications (MAM)

Preston, Melbourne VIC | Onsite

$40–$45 per hour | Full-Time | 6-Month Project Contract | 38 Hours per Week

Help improve warehouse operations, implement better stock management systems and make lasting improvements.

Mobility Access Modifications (MAM) is looking for an experienced, hands-on warehouse skilled to support our existing Warehouse Team Leader and lead a six-month operational improvement project.

A major priority is developing and implementing a practical stock management and pre-picking system to improve inventory accuracy, prepare materials ahead of scheduled jobs and reduce unnecessary delays.

This is a hands-on role where you'll work directly with our warehouse team, management and Business Process Analyst to deliver practical improvements that staff can confidently use and maintain.

What you'll be doing

Warehouse operations and team leadership

- Support the existing Warehouse Team Leader with daily planning, work allocation, staff coordination, performance and accountability.
- Provide acting operational leadership support when required.
- Improve receiving, storage, stock control, picking, pre-loading, dispatch, returns and replenishment.
- Strengthen materials planning and coordination between the warehouse, manufacturing and trades teams.

Stock management and systems implementation

- Lead the assessment, development, testing and rollout of improved stock management and pre-picking processes.
- Explore ways to generate job-specific inventory requirements and picking lists from approved quotes.
- Improve material preparation ahead of scheduled jobs and establish better stock movement tracking.
- Assess suitable barcode scanning, inventory systems and practical automation opportunities.
- Work with our Business Process Analyst and relevant stakeholders to evaluate technical feasibility, implementation costs and system requirements.
- Make effective use of existing tools, including AroFlo, Datapel,

Trello and Excel, where appropriate.

Process improvement and team adoption

- Reduce missing materials, unnecessary supplier trips, last-minute purchasing and avoidable job delays.
- Improve warehouse organisation, workflows, efficiency and operational accountability.
- Work closely with warehouse staff to introduce improvements, gain buy-in and manage change constructively.
- Develop practical procedures, checklists and training materials.
- Track improvements and ensure new processes can be maintained after the project ends.

What we're looking for

Essential experience and skills

- Strong hands-on experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, logistics or manufacturing.
- Experience supervising or coordinating warehouse or operational teams.
- Demonstrated experience personally implementing warehouse process or systems improvements.
- Strong knowledge of stock control, inventory management, picking, replenishment and materials flow.
- Confidence using warehouse or inventory systems, Excel and other digital tools.
- Ability to plan, coordinate and deliver practical improvement projects.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, team leadership and change management skills.
- Ability to support an existing Team Leader and gain frontline staff buy-in.
- Willingness to work hands-on and onsite in Preston five days per week.
- Valid Australian work rights covering the required hours and six-month engagement.

Highly regarded

- Experience implementing warehouse management systems (WMS), digital picking or barcode scanning.
- Familiarity with AroFlo, Datapel,

Trello or similar systems.
- Experience integrating job preparation, quoting and inventory processes.
- Background in building materials, construction, manufacturing, trades or field-service operations.
- Knowledge of 5S, continuous improvement and warehouse automation.

You don't need experience with every system we use. What matters is your ability to understand warehouse challenges, implement workable solutions and help the team adopt them. What success looks like after six months

- Improved inventory accuracy, stock visibility and replenishment processes.
- A working pre-picking process, with appropriate automation where technically and commercially feasible.
- Better material readiness and fewer avoidable job delays.
- Stronger daily warehouse planning, team coordination and accountability.
- Improved use of warehouse systems and reduced manual administration.
- Clear procedures and staff trained to maintain the improvements independently.
