We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join our team in Bankstown, Current South Wales. This contract role within the Transport & Rail industry is crucial for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our employees. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining payroll records, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and supporting the overall financial operations of the organisation.

Responsibilities:

- Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

- Maintain and update payroll records, including employee information, tax details, and deductions.

- Assist in the preparation of payroll reports and summaries for management review.

- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and resolve any discrepancies.

- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting and budgeting.

- Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and best practices to ensure compliance.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience in payroll processing, preferably within the Transport & Rail industry.

- Strong understanding of payroll legislation and compliance requirements in Australia.

- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

- Proficient in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
n
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
