Kitchen Stewarding Supervisor – Hotel

Melbourne CBD | Full Time | Evening roster (4:00pm-12:00am)

About the Role

As Kitchen Stewarding Supervisor, you’ll lead the team behind a high-end, high-volume hotel kitchen for one of our clients in Melbourne CBD.

You’ll run the stewarding shift – managing rosters, delegating duties and training new team members – while making sure chefs have the clean equipment, tools and work areas they need to deliver an exceptional service. You’ll own hygiene standards across the kitchen, HACCP and WHS compliance, and the upkeep of dishwashing equipment and storerooms.

This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who leads with confidence, energy and precision and thrives in a fast-paced, premium environment. You’ll set the standard for your team and take pride in getting it right every shift.

Location and roster:

- Melbourne CBD
- Full time – Tuesday to Saturday
- Evening – 4:00pm to 12:00am (midnight)

What You’ll Be Doing

Your day-to-day work will mainly involve:

- Supervising and supporting the stewarding team’s daily operations, leading each shift to deliver a high standard of service to the chefs and kitchen team.
- Managing rosters, delegating duties and completing key administration tasks to keep the team running smoothly.
- Training new team members and coaching the team to uphold high standards of service, hygiene and safety.
- Ensuring cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen areas,



including dishwashing, back-of-house and storage areas.
- Maintaining compliance with HACCP and WHS requirements, including safe work practices and prompt reporting of hazards.
- Overseeing the upkeep of dishwashing machines, equipment and tools, and following up faults or breakages quickly.
- Keeping kitchen storerooms organised and well stocked so the chefs and team have what they need, when they need it.
- Using and managing cleaning products safely and effectively, including correct chemical handling by the whole team.

About You

We’re looking for a confident leader who knows what great looks like in a high-end kitchen and can get the best out of a team under pressure.

You’ll ideally:

- Have previous leadership experience in a 4–5 star hotel or high-volume food and beverage setting.
- Have a strong working knowledge of food safety (HACCP) and WHS.
- Have a proven ability to meet high service and quality standards under pressure.
- Be motivated, reliable and detail-focused, and lead by example on the floor.
- Be available to work the full-time Tuesday to Saturday, 4:00pm to 12:00am roster.
- Have strong English communication skills to lead and train the team and handle admin, and be comfortable using electronic rostering and timesheet systems.
