The Opportunity

This role is about growth. BuyICT gives you a steady flow of roles from day one, but if you want to bill from a stream of BuyICT responses and wait for the next one, this isn’t the role for you. The best recruiters use the platform as a foundation, then build relationships, win new clients and grow permanent and contract business well beyond it. That’s the desk we want you to build.

We’re growing our Tech desk and looking for a technology recruiter, at consultant or senior consultant level, who treats a desk like a business. You’ll have the clients, the market and the backing to build something. How far it goes is up to you.

Nobody will hand you a script, but when you need support there is an experienced manager and broader team ready to lend an ear.

- Own your desk and your patch, with real say in how it grows

The Role

This is full 360-degree recruitment, with business development at the centre.

You’ll spend your time winning and growing clients, then delivering for them with quality candidates.

- Identify, win and grow technology clients through proactive BD, not waiting for the market to come to you
- Use data to decide where to focus, from hiring trends and client activity to pipeline and conversion, and turn it into more business
- Deepen existing accounts by becoming the trusted advisor on workforce planning, market insight and upcoming need
- Work BuyICT roles as a foundation for your desk, then use those relationships to win direct business, permanent work and new clients beyond the platform
- Deliver permanent, contract and labour hire placements through detailed briefs and strong networks of tech talent
- Manage a contractor book and grow it with purpose

The Ideal Person

You’ll have a solid track record in technology recruitment, ideally in Canberra, and a clear record of winning recent business and growing accounts.





You’ll understand how Commonwealth procurement and the BuyICT platform work, and you’ll see them as a way in, not the whole game. You’re comfortable with data and use it to make decisions and drive results.

You might want a bigger voice in your business, a platform to grow beyond government contracting, or a commission structure that reflects what you actually generate. If that’s you, let’s talk.

Salary / Rate

- OTE $120k – $160k + Super
- Market leading bonus structure
- Free parking in Braddon, valued at $2,000 per year
