About the role

We are seeking a reliable, organised and motivated person to join our busy car hire and airport parking operations in Cairns. This full-time position will primarily cover afternoon and evening shifts on a rotating roster, including some weekend work. Start and finish times will vary depending on operational requirements. Your role involves helping ensure vehicles, customer bookings and daily operations run smoothly through to closing. The successful applicant must be confident working independently, as some shifts will involve working without direct supervision. Full training will be provided.

Key responsibilities

- Organise, move and park vehicles efficiently and safely.

- Coordinate vehicle movements and parking arrangements.

- Prepare and process car hire contracts, including vehicle collections and returns.

- Provide friendly and professional customer service.

- Drive our Toyota Hiace 12-seater courtesy bus to transfer customers between our premises and Cairns Airport.

- Update bookings, vehicle movements and customer information in our computer system.

- Assist with general day-to-day car hire and airport parking operations.

- Complete end-of-day procedures, including securing vehicles, checking premises and locking up.

- Work independently and manage tasks effectively during solo shifts.

- Follow company procedures and maintain a safe,



clean and organised workplace.

About you

- A current manual driver's licence with a clean driving record.

- Confidence driving a range of vehicles, including a 12-seater courtesy bus.

- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn our booking and vehicle management systems.

- Good communication and customer service skills.

- Strong organisational and time management skills.

- The ability to work independently without supervision.

- Ability to follow established procedures and exercise good judgement when handling unexpected situations.

- A reliable, punctual and responsible attitude.

- Availability to work afternoon/evening shifts, including some weekends.

- The ability to undertake physical duties associated with vehicle movements and parking operations.

Highly regarded

- Basic mechanical knowledge or an understanding of vehicle maintenance and common vehicle issues.

- Previous experience in car rental, airport parking, tourism, transport or a similar customer service environment.
