This position is based at our busy Belmont workshop where most of our work is performed, keeping it central to one location.

About the business

A.P.S. Rewinds and Sales is a Western Australian owned medium sized business operating since 1964, servicing multiple industries including mining, manufacturing, water treatment and agricultural sectors across Western Australia. We are an authorized Davey Premium Master Dealer, Onga Pump Shop and Puretec Filtration specialist.

Our business activities include rewinds/repairs and overhauls to:

- AC and DC electric motors from 0.75kw to 800kw

- Alternators/generators to 1750kVA

- All types of centrifugal and submersible pumps

- Gearboxes and eddy current drives

- Modification to Australian standards and/or client/mining specification of new motors

- Sales & supply of new electric motors, pumps, generators, and water filtration equipment

We have a steady pipeline of incoming work which enables us to provide a stable workplace to our team members. Our business hours are Monday to Friday generally between 8:00am to 5.00pm.

About the role

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the position will be responsible for,



but not limited to:

- Assisting our trades personnel with dismantling and reassembling of electric motors, pumps and generators

- Assisting with fault finding of electric motors, pumps and generators

- Learning a specialised skill of rewinding electric motors and pumps

- Assisting with pickup and delivery of jobs

- Assisting with general workshop duties, including spray painting, sandblasting, steam cleaning parts and other tasks as required to assist workshop and office personnel

Skills & experience

- Mechanically minded with an interest in electric motors and pumps

- Relevant transferrable industry experience

- Commitment to safety and positive attitude

- Ability to understand and follow instructions and processes

- Self-motivated with a good work ethic and desire to learn

- Organised and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

- Current valid driver’s Licence

- Forklift and/or Manual Truck Licence will be highly regarded

Candidates must have valid Australian permanent work rights.

If you do not have a Trade Qualification, there may be an opportunity for A.P.S. Rewinds to offer you a Trade pathway (Cert III Electrotechnology Electrician) upon successful completion of probation.
