Are you a technically strong Project Architect looking for more ownership, greater influence and the opportunity to make a real impact?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing commercial Design & Construct business in Perth in a brand-new position, created to strengthen its technical capability and support its next phase of growth.
Working directly with the Operations & Construction Director, you’ll take ownership of the technical delivery of commercial projects while helping improve documentation standards, streamline processes and establish the foundations for future team growth.

This is more than a traditional documentation role. You’ll have a genuine voice in how projects are delivered, work closely with the construction team and have the opportunity to help shape a technical function as the business continues to expand.

If you’re ready to step beyond producing drawing packages and play a bigger role in the delivery and growth of a business, this could be the opportunity for you.

The Opportunity
You’ll work across the full project lifecycle, translating approved design concepts into coordinated, compliant and buildable commercial projects.
With design, project management and construction teams operating within the same business, you’ll have direct involvement in the decisions that influence project outcomes, from design development through to construction and handover.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Leading design development, technical documentation and delivery across commercial projects.
- Producing and overseeing high-quality AutoCAD documentation, technical detailing, schedules and drawing packages.
- Coordinating building surveyors, services engineers, consultants, suppliers and other project stakeholders.
- Reviewing documentation to identify clashes, compliance gaps and buildability issues before they reach site.
- Working closely with Project Managers and construction teams to resolve RFIs, shop drawings, technical queries and site issues.
- Maintaining design intent while balancing budget, programme,

compliance and practical construction requirements.
- Supporting the technical capability of the existing design team and helping establish consistent documentation standards.
- Working alongside the Operations & Construction Director during your first six months to review and improve drawing standards, documentation processes and quality controls.

Why This Opportunity? The chance to make your mark and grow with the business.
The business has experienced significant growth and is investing in the technical foundations needed to support its next stage. This newly created role offers the opportunity to influence how projects are delivered today while helping shape the team and processes of tomorrow.
You'll have the opportunity to:

- Build and improve: Take ownership of technical standards, documentation processes and quality controls.
- Work directly with leadership: Collaborate with the Operations & Construction Director and have a genuine say in how the business evolves.
- Help build a team: Contribute to developing the technical function, with scope to grow your influence as the business and project pipeline expand.
- Own the full project journey: Stay involved from design development through to construction and the finished result.
- Work collaboratively: Partner with designers, Project Managers and construction professionals in an integrated Design & Construct environment.
- Develop your career: Step into a visible position with the potential to grow alongside an ambitious and expanding business.

About You
You’re an experienced Project Architect or Senior Project Architect with strong technical capability,

sound construction knowledge and the confidence to take ownership.
You understand that great design needs to translate into practical, buildable outcomes. You’re proactive, detail-oriented and comfortable working through complex technical challenges with consultants, contractors and internal teams.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

- 7–10+ years of post-graduate architectural experience.
- A Bachelor or Master of Architecture.
- Experience delivering commercial architecture, commercial interiors or fitout projects.
- Strong design development, documentation and technical detailing skills.
- Advanced AutoCAD capability.
- Proven consultant coordination experience.
- A sound understanding of the NCC, Australian Standards and commercial building compliance.
- Construction-phase experience, including RFIs, shop drawings, site coordination and technical issue resolution.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft 365.
- Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- WA architectural registration, or the ability to obtain registration, will be highly regarded.

The Right Mindset
You take pride in your technical work, enjoy solving problems and aren't afraid to challenge existing processes when there's a better way forward.
You’re commercially aware, understand the relationship between design and construction, and want to see your work come to life on site.
Most importantly, you're looking for more than a change of employer. You want the opportunity to influence decisions, strengthen a growing team and help build something with genuine long-term potential.

Ready for Your Next Move?
If you're a technically minded Project Architect looking for greater ownership, direct access to leadership and the opportunity to help shape the future of a growing commercial business, I'd love to hear from you.
