We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to support the delivery of major electrical infrastructure projects across South Australia. This is an opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of substations, grid connections, HV/MV/LV installations, cable systems and renewable energy projects, taking ownership of project work packages from planning through to commissioning and handover.
About the Role
This is a hands-on project delivery role suited to engineers who enjoy being close to construction and commissioning activities rather than working primarily from an office. You will be based on project sites across South Australia, working alongside construction teams, subcontractors and project stakeholders to drive safe and efficient project delivery.
Projects may include substations, grid connection works, HV/MV/LV installations, cable systems and renewable energy infrastructure. Travel and working away from home will be required, with rosters typically operating on a 10 days on / 4 days off basis, working 11-hour days depending on project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project planning, work sequencing and resource coordination
- Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction and subcontractor activities
- Manage technical interfaces, RFIs, constructability reviews and engineering inputs
- Monitor project costs, productivity, variations and commercial performance
- Manage project risks and support mitigation strategies
- Oversee quality assurance, testing, commissioning and project documentation
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and contractual requirements
- Coordinate practical completion and handover activities
About You
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering (essential)
- Experience delivering electrical infrastructure, utilities, industrial or construction projects
- Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies and construction practices
- Experience coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary project teams
- Strong commercial, planning and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Eligible for membership with Engineers Australia
What's on Offer
- Contract opportunity with genuine long-term and permanent potential
- Major electrical infrastructure and renewable energy projects
- Attractive earning potential with overtime opportunities
- Living-away-from-home and travel allowances where applicable
- Exposure to complex, large-scale projects across South Australia
- Solid career development opportunities within a growing project portfolio
If you're an Electrical Project Engineer who enjoys being on site, leading project delivery and working on critical energy infrastructure projects, we'd love to hear from you.
