About the role

il Vigneto at Rochford Wines is looking for an experienced Pizza & Pasta Chef to join a small, professional kitchen team in the Yarra Valley. The menu focuses on wood-fired Neapolitan pizza, pasta, antipasto and desserts, using quality seasonal produce and estate wines. This position would suit an experienced Chef de Partie looking to progress into a Sous Chef role, or an established Sous Chef looking for a hands-on position in a quality venue.

Key responsibilities

- Run the pizza and pasta section confidently and efficiently

- Prepare and cook consistently to a high standard during service

- Assist other sections and help keep the kitchen running smoothly

- Lead the kitchen team when required

- Assist with ordering, stock rotation, stocktakes and waste control

- Maintain high standards of food quality, cleanliness and food safety

- Contribute ideas and help maintain and improve kitchen standards

About you

- Proven experience in an Italian restaurant is essential

- 2–3+ years' experience in a commercial kitchen

- Strong knowledge of Italian food and cooking





- Experience with a wood-fired pizza oven

- Experience hand-stretching pizza is an advantage

- Fresh pasta experience is an advantage

- Confident working independently and running your own section

- Able to work well as part of a small team

- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

- Calm and capable under pressure

- A positive, hands-on, can-do attitude

- Available to work weekends, including Saturday nights

- Own transport is essential as the venue is not accessible by public transport
