Curious about the future of safety? So are we.

At Calix, we're applying innovative science and engineering to solve some of the world's most important industrial and environmental challenges.

We're looking for a Health & Safety Manager who is passionate about advances in safety science and how it can positively impact understanding and outcomes. Someone who is curious about how work is done, how organisations learn from operational experience, and how strong systems, effective controls and capable people come together to deliver protected and reliable outcomes.

Working across corporate, manufacturing, pilot plant and technology development environments, you'll partner with all the business and operations to strengthen enterprise and operational risk management, process safety, critical controls and operational capability. You'll help translate learning into action, and contribute to safe, reliable operations in a business where innovation and industrial performance go hand in hand.

What you'll do

You'll lead the ongoing development and advancement of our Health & Safety approach across manufacturing, pilot plant and technology development operations.

You will:

· Lead and improve our Health & Safety Management System.

· Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, licences, permits and regulatory obligations.

· Drive process safety programs, critical control management and risk management activities.

· Participate in risk assessments including HAZID, HAZOP, Bowtie and LOPA methodologies.

· Support leaders and operational teams to strengthen risk ownership and decision-making capability.

· Lead incident learning, assurance, audit and verification programs.

· Coach leaders and help build a positive, psychologically safe and learning-oriented culture.

About you

You're an experienced Health & Safety leader who combines technical capability with curiosity, sound judgement and the ability to influence others.

You might come from manufacturing, chemical processing, energy, resources or another high-hazard environment. What matters most is that you're passionate about safety, risk management and helping organisations continuously improve.

You'll bring:

· Relevant tertiary qualifications in health and safety, engineering or a related technical discipline.

· Process safety and risk management experience.

· Experience developing and improving safety management systems.

· The ability to influence, coach and build trusted relationships across all levels of an organisation.

· Facilitation and communication skills.

· A passion for learning, improvement and helping teams succeed.

· An interest in Human and Organisational Performance (HOP), Safety-II principles or contemporary approaches to organisational learning.

Why join Calix

You'll work in an environment that brings together technology development, pilot-scale operations and manufacturing in a way few organisations can offer. For a safety professional who enjoys variety, complexity and the chance to make a genuine contribution, it's a rare opportunity.

If you're ready to strengthen process safety and help shape the next chapter of Health & Safety at Calix, we'd love to hear from you.
