FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

About your recent role Smith & Co is seeking experienced Skilled/Unskilled Civil Labourers for current and upcoming projects across Brisbane and South East Queensland.

Support civil crews on subdivisions, roadworks, drainage, bulk earthworks and infrastructure projects. Depending on the site, tasks may include trenching, pit and pipe, spotting, drainage support and general civil construction work.

Overtime available on some projects
Temp-to-perm pathways on selected roles
Work with established civil contractors
Projects across subdivisions, roadworks and drainage

Key responsibilities
Support crews on drainage, trenching, pit and pipe, roadworks or earthworks
Assist pipelayers, operators and other site personnel
Spot plant and equipment while following site safety procedures
Prepare work areas and materials for daily tasks
Follow instructions from the Supervisor and Leading Hand
Keep work areas clean and report hazards or site issues

Skills & experience we are looking for
Previous hands-on experience in civil construction
Current Construction White Card
Confidence working safely around excavators and other mobile plant




Reliable transport to project locations across Brisbane and SEQ
Dependable attendance and a safety-focused approach

Nice to haves
Drainage, pit and pipe, trenching or underground services experience
Experience spotting plant or supporting pipelaying crews
Relevant RII plant tickets

About your team
You’ll work alongside civil crews that may include Leading Hands, operators, pipelayers and other labourers. Crew structure and daily tasks vary between projects.
