We are seeking a skilled and motivated Timber Workshop Hand to join our team. As a Timber Workshop Hand, you will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of our timber workshop, ensuring the productive production of high-quality timber products. This role requires a combination of manual dexterity, woodworking expertise, and a robust commitment to workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Timber Processing:
Operate and maintain woodworking machinery, including saws, planers, and sanders.
Prepare and cut timber according to specified dimensions and designs.
Ensure precision and accuracy in all timber processing tasks.

Assembly and Finishing:
Assemble timber components to create finished products, such as furniture or construction materials.
Apply finishes, such as varnish or paint, to enhance the appearance and durability of the timber products.
Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.

Material Handling:
Receive, store, and organize timber materials and supplies.
Load and unload timber from delivery trucks.
Keep accurate inventory records and report any shortages or discrepancies.

Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working workplace.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE)



and follow proper safety procedures during all tasks.
Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly.

Quality Control:
Monitor the quality of timber materials and finished products.
Identify and address any defects or imperfections in the timber.
Collaborate with the quality control team to continuously improve product quality.

Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other workshop team members to achieve production goals.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to ensure smooth workflow.
Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.

Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience in a timber workshop or similar woodworking workplace.
Proficient in operating and maintaining woodworking machinery.
Strong knowledge of timber properties, grades, and species.
Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Physical fitness and ability to lift and carry heavy timber materials.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Understanding of safety regulations and willingness to prioritize safety in all tasks.
