Southern Cross Metals is currently seeking an experienced, reliable, and safety-focused Heavy Rigid (HR) Truck Driver to join our busy team in Sefton, NSW.

Shift Hours & Work-Life Balance

Enjoy a structured, reliable roster with no weekend work and your Friday afternoons completely free:
Monday to Thursday: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (16:00)
Friday: 7:30 AM – 1:30 PM (13:30)
Scheduled Breaks: Mandated mid-morning break and lunch break included to keep you fresh and focused.

Role Overview & Key Responsibilities
Operate HR Vehicles: Drive heavy rigid trucks to safely collect and transport scrap metal.
Local Runs: Perform daily pick-ups and deliveries across the Sydney metropolitan area, starting and finishing each day at our Sefton facility.
Customer Service: Act as the face of Southern Cross Metals when visiting client sites, commercial yards, and industrial sites.
Safety & Compliance: Conduct daily pre-start vehicle inspections, secure heavy loads properly, and maintain accurate records.

What We Are Looking For
Licence: A valid Australian HR Driver’s Licence (minimum 2 years of heavy vehicle driving experience preferred).




Experience: Prior experience . Working within the recycling/waste industry is highly regarded.
Skills: Robust spatial awareness for navigating tight customer sites, excellent communication, and a clean driving record.
Attitude: A commitment to safety regulations and a punctual, reliable work ethic.
