About the role

We’re looking for a capable, practical lawyer to join our busy Sydney practice, working primarily across commercial/business law and estate planning.

This role suits someone who already has solid experience in these areas and enjoys working closely with clients. You’ll need to be commercially minded, think clearly under pressure, and draft in plain English. Strong people skills are essential, our clients value direct access and explicit advice.

A sense of humour helps too.

We offer excellent remuneration for the right candidate, based on experience and performance. Billable hour expectations are lower than larger firms, and the work is varied, interesting, and genuinely client facing.

What you’ll be doing

Working closely with Jonathan Harris, Director, you will:
Advise clients on a broad range of commercial and business matters;




Advise clients on and draft estate planning documents, including Wills and related structures, across both easy and complex estate planning scenarios;
Manage matters with a high level of autonomy and responsibility; and
Build direct client relationships and provide tailored, practical advice.

Supervision and training are available, but this role will suit someone who is comfortable working independently.

About you

You will have:
Minimum 3 years PAE in commercial and/or estate planning work;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Solid drafting skills and attention to detail;
The ability to work efficiently, meet client expectations and manage matters to budget;
A proactive, motivated approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

This role is not suited to someone requiring close or ongoing supervision. Our work is often bespoke and requires thoughtful drafting and sound judgment.
