The Mornington Shire Council provides a range of services to twenty-three islands of the Wellesley Group in the Gulf of Carpentaria, in the State of Queensland. Mornington island is the largest island in the group with the main township of Gununa, housing most of the population. Mornington island is located 125kms north-west of Burketown, 200kms west of Karumba and 444kms from Mount Isa.

Key Responsibilities
Manage accommodation reservations using RMS or similar property management systems
Process bookings, cancellations, and amendments accurately and efficiently
Maintain reservation records and ensure guest information is up to date
Communicate with guests regarding bookings, availability, and accommodation details
Coordinate with housekeeping and operations teams regarding room availability
Guest check-ins and enquiries
Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
Assist with general administrative tasks relating to accommodation services

Skills & Experience
Minimum 2 years’ experience in an accommodation, reservations, or hospitality role desired
Experience using RMS or similar property management system (PMS)




Previous front office or reception experience highly regarded
Strong organisational and time management skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
High level of attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle guest concerns with professionalism
Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office
Unrestricted working rights in Australia
Experience working in remote or regional locations highly regarded
Experience managing group bookings or contractor accommodation
Understanding of cultural awareness when working within Indigenous communities
An open car license is required for this position.
