Cook in paradise on the Southern Great Barrier Reef! Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Line Chef to join our kitchen team.
About the Role:
This is a hands-on role in the kitchen, delivering buffet service for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You will work across all areas of service, including breakfast, lunch, dinner and desserts. Duties include:
Preparing and cooking dishes to a high standard for buffet service
Ability to do Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Dessert shifts
Setup and replenishment of buffet stations
Maintaining strict food safety, hygiene and allergen standards
Supporting the Head Chef with daily operations
Contributing positively to a collaborative kitchen team
Bringing creative flair to menu offerings and presentation while maintaining consistency
What We’re Looking For:
Available to start in the next fortnight
Completion (or willingness to complete) a Food Handlers Certificate and Food Allergen course
Proven experience as a Chef in a busy kitchen with bulk cooking or buffet experience
Strong attention to detail in both food preparation and presentation
Creative freedom to showcase ideas within a team-driven kitchen
Flexibility to work across all service times (breakfast, lunch, dinner and desserts)
A strong team player with reliability and a positive attitude
Roster & Conditions:
10 days on, 4 days off roster
Full time Permanent role
Pay rate dependent on experience and skillset
Flights and accommodation included (single room, shared bathroom facilities)
All meals provided
Flights to and from Hervey Bay or Bundaberg
Time off to snorkel and explore our stunning coral cay
