The Discovery Health Centre is a newly established General Practice with Specialist Consulting Suites located in Mount Pleasant, conveniently close to Mater Hospital. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Medical Receptionist to join our growing team on a casual basis.
Current clinic operating hours are Monday to Friday – 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Suitable candidates will receive training to assist in the operation of specialist consulting clinics as well if required.

Experience in Best practice/ Medical director software
Key responsibilities /n
/n
Opening and closing the practice
/n
Managing patient appointments, bookings, check-ins, and billing
/n
Processing Medicare, DVA, and private billings
/n
Medical records management
/n
Tracking and processing test results, referrals, and correspondence
/n
Communicating professionally with patients, specialists, healthcare providers, and the practice team via phone, email, and face-to-face interactions
/n
Maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming practice environment
/n
Supporting workplace health and safety requirements Working collaboratively within the healthcare team
/n
About you /n
/n
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
/n
General computer literacy and the ability to learn medical management software
/n
Robust attention to detail and organisational skills
/n
Ability to work independently and make appropriate decisions when required
/n
Understanding of the importance of privacy and confidentiality in healthcare
/n
Reliable, qualified, and committed to high-quality patient care
/n
Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and solid work ethic
/n
Enjoys working as part of a team
/n
Previous experience with Best practice / Medical objects as a Medical Receptionist will be highly regarded.
/n
School leavers will be considered and need to go through a training process.
