CHPP Maintenance Coordinator: ElectricalFull-timeSteelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world.In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.Anglo American Steelmaking Coal is seeking an experienced CHPP Electrical Coordinator to join the Engineering and Maintenance team at Moranbah North Mine.This is a key leadership role responsible for coordinating electrical maintenance activities across the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant.
You will work closely with operations, maintenance, planning, engineering and contractor teams to ensure electrical work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with site requirements.The role would suit an experienced electrical supervisor or coordinator who understands fixed plant maintenance and is ready to take the next step towards becoming a CHPP Electrical Engineering Manager.
You will bring proven experience supervising staff, building strong relationships, setting clear expectations and holding people accountable for safety, performance and quality of work.
You will also be comfortable balancing day to day breakdown support with planned maintenance and longer term plant reliability.About the roleIn this role, you will:Coordinate electrical maintenance activities across the CHPP and associated infrastructureProvide day to day leadership and technical support to electrical personnel and contractorsEnsure electrical work is properly planned, risk assessed and completed safelySupport breakdown response, fault finding and the return of equipment to serviceWork with planning and operations teams to prioritise maintenance and minimise production impactsCoordinate electrical isolations, commissioning activities and plant modificationsMonitor electrical defects, recurring failures and maintenance performanceSupport statutory inspections,



audits and electrical compliance activitiesMaintain accurate electrical documentation, records and required authorisationsContribute to continuous improvement, equipment reliability and maintenance strategiesPromote a strong safety culture and hold work standards under operational pressureAbout YouTo be successful, you will ideally have:A recognised electrical trade qualification and current Queensland electrical licenceDemonstrated electrical maintenance experience within a CHPP, fixed plant, mining or heavy industrial environmentPrevious experience coordinating electrical trades, contractors and daily maintenance activitiesStrong knowledge of electrical safety, isolation, commissioning and permit-to-work requirementsExperience with fault finding breakdown response and planned maintenanceExposure to PLC controlled plant, instrumentation, variable speed drives, motor control and HV systemsThe ability to identify recurring failures and contribute to plant reliability improvementsExperience using maintenance and work-management systems such as SAPStrong planning, prioritisation and stakeholder-management skillsClear communication and the confidence to challenge unsafe work or poor standardsA practical, visible leadership style and a genuine commitment to safetyBased at Moranbah North Mine, Moranbah, QLDRoster - 9 day fortnightFIFO, BIBO, DIDO or ResidentialFree camp and messCompetitive salary + 12% superannuation and annual bonusFree / Discounted gym membershipEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) for employees and their familyWhat we offerWhen you join Anglo American,
