Mayday Recruitment is partnering with a highly respected insurer specialising in the Strata Community to recruit a Claims Consultant to join their Claims Assist team.This is an opportunity to join a customer-focused claims environment where you'll play an important role in delivering a seamless claims experience, managing a portfolio of property claims and supporting a broader national claims function.Why You'll Love This RoleJoin a specialist insurer with a strong focus on the Strata CommunityWork within a collaborative and supportive national claims teamManage a portfolio of select property claims from lodgement through to resolutionMake a genuine impact on customer experience and claims outcomesBe part of a team focused on improving claims processes and delivering best practiceOpportunity to contribute to projects, workshops and the future development of the Claims Assist modelAbout the RoleAs a Claims Consultant, you'll be responsible for providing a high-quality claims experience from the initial notification through to ongoing claim management.You'll work closely with internal teams, customers and suppliers to ensure claims are managed efficiently, accurately and in line with policy conditions and regulatory requirements.Key responsibilities will include:Deliver an exceptional lodgement and initial contact experience for customers, supporting an efficient First Notification of Loss (FNOL)Manage a portfolio of select property claims in line with the Claims Assist functionAssess claims and make appropriate indemnity and liability decisions within delegated authorityAccurately set claim reserves based on available informationAppoint and liaise with appropriate suppliers throughout the claims processSupport claims administration and assist panel suppliers with system-related enquiriesMonitor claims correspondence and identify urgent matters requiring attentionIdentify and escalate complaints in accordance with internal processesWork collaboratively with leaders across multiple teams regarding claims and correspondence allocationIdentify opportunities to improve claims processes, procedures and customer serviceContribute to business projects, workshops and continuous improvement initiativesIdentify claims requiring underwriter involvement, including matters requiring risk recommendations or surveysEnsure all claims activity is undertaken in accordance with internal policies, legislation and the General Insurance Code of PracticeProvide a consistent and seamless claims experience to customers across AustraliaAbout YouWe're looking for an insurance professional who combines strong claims knowledge with a genuine commitment to customer service.You'll ideally bring:Previous experience working within Property Claims is essentialStrong customer service and communication skillsThe ability to manage a portfolio of claims with accuracy and attention to detailConfidence making decisions within delegated authorityStrong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing prioritiesA collaborative approach and willingness to support the wider claims teamA proactive mindset with an interest in continuous improvementA commitment to professional and compliant claims managementAn insurance qualification such as ANZIIF, or another relevant professional certification, will be highly regarded.The CultureThe organisation is committed to creating a claims environment built around pride, respect, trust and unity.
