ABOUT THE ROLE n
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Leading Hand Diesel Fitter will coordinate and participate in the maintenance, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs of underground mobile mining equipment while providing day-to-day leadership to the maintenance team.

Key responsibilities include:
n
n
Leading and supervising a team of maintenance personnel
n
Performing scheduled and breakdown maintenance on Sandvik underground equipment
n
Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical, hydraulic, and auto electrical faults
n
Coordinating daily maintenance activities to minimise equipment downtime
n
Ensuring all maintenance work is completed safely and to a high standard
n
Providing technical guidance and mentoring to tradespeople and apprentices
n
Maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation
n
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the maintenance department
n
Promoting and maintaining Redpath's strong safety culture
n




ABOUT YOU n
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
n
n
Australian recognised Trade Qualification as a Diesel Fitter, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Plant Mechanic, or equivalent
n
Previous experience as a Leading Hand, Senior Diesel Fitter, or Supervisory Tradesperson within underground mining
n
Strong experience maintaining
Sandvik underground mobile equipment
n
Proven fault-finding and diagnostic skills across heavy mobile plant
n
Sound understanding of underground mining operations
n
Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills
n
Current Australian driver's licence
n
Ability to work effectively within a ***** roster arrangement
n
Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence
n
Desirable n
n
Underground mining experience
n
HR Driver's Licence
n
High Risk Work Licences
n
Working at Heights certification
n
Confined Space Entry certification
n
First Aid qualifications
n
