Job Description
We are seeking aFull-time Waitressto join the team at Basil Leaf Pho Ptl Ltd in Fitzroy, VIC ****.
This is a full-time position where you will be at the heart of our hospitality operation, delivering exceptional customer service and creating memorable dining experiences for our guests.
As a waitress, you will play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of service our restaurant is known for, ensuring every customer feels welcomed and valued throughout their visit.
What you'll be doing
Greeting guests warmly upon arrival and seating them at appropriate tables in a timely manner
Taking accurate food and beverage orders from customers and inputting them into the ordering system
Providing knowledgeable recommendations about menu items, specials and beverages to enhance the dining experience
Serving food and drinks promptly and professionally, ensuring orders are correct and presented attractively
Checking in with guests during their meal to ensure satisfaction and addressing any concerns immediately
Processing payments and operating the point-of-sale system accurately and securely
Clearing and resetting tables efficiently between service periods
Maintaining a clean and organised dining area, including floor and table maintenance
Adhering to food safety and hygiene standards at all times
Supporting kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth restaurant operations
Handling customer complaints professionally and escalating issues when necessary
What we're looking for
Previous experience as a waitress or in a similar customer-facing role within hospitality, preferably in a restaurant or café environment
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse customers and team members
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to accurately process orders and payments




Physical stamina and the ability to work on your feet for extended periods
Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends as required
A friendly, positive attitude and genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Basic food safety and hygiene knowledge, or willingness to obtain relevant certifications
Familiarity with point-of-sale systems is advantageous but not essential
Knowledge of Vietnamese cuisine and pho would be a valuable asset
