The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for aJunior HVAC Project Managerto join an established HVAC contractor delivering major mechanical services projects across Melbourne.
The business has a strong presence within theData Centre and Critical Infrastructure sectorand is looking for a motivated HVAC professional who is ready to take the next step in their career and develop into a fully‐fledged Project Manager.
You will work closely with senior Project Managers, engineers, subcontractors and clients, gaining exposure to the full project lifecycle across technically complex HVAC and mechanical services projects.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experiencedHVAC Project Engineer, Project Coordinator or Junior Project Managerlooking to take on greater responsibility and progress within the data centre sector.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the delivery of HVAC and mechanical services projects from mobilisation through to completion.
Support senior Project Managers with project planning, programming, procurement and delivery.
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, site teams and consultants.
Assist with project budgets, cost tracking, variations and forecasting.
Review drawings, specifications, RFIs and technical documentation.
Assist with project programming and monitor progress against key milestones.
Coordinate site activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to specification.
Build robust working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
Assist with commissioning, testing and handover of mechanical/HVAC systems.




Maintain project documentation and ensure relevant compliance requirements are met.
Identify potential project risks and assist with developing appropriate solutions.
Work closely with senior management to ensure commercial and project objectives are achieved.
About You
We are looking for someone with a background inHVAC, mechanical services or building serviceswho is ready to progress into a Project Management position.
You will ideally have:
Previous experience working for an HVAC or mechanical services contractor.
Experience in a Project Engineer, Project Coordinator, Contracts Administrator or Junior Project Manager capacity, ideally managing projects up to a $1m value.
Strong understanding of HVAC/mechanical services construction and installation.
Experience working on commercial, industrial, healthcare, critical infrastructure or data centre projects.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Good commercial awareness and an understanding of project costs, variations and procurement.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
A proactive attitude and genuine desire to develop into a senior Project Manager.
Data Centre experience is highly desirable, but not essentialfor the right HVAC professional with strong project delivery experience.
