Horticulture Farm Manager in Coffs Harbour n
Our Client, Sandhu & Chouhan Produce is seeking an experienced and motivated Horticulture Farm Manager to join our established horticultural farming operation in Bucca, NSW.
Tasks Include: n
n
Plan and coordinate the cultivation and harvesting of blueberries, raspberries and cucumbers according to seasonal conditions and production requirements.
n
Plan planting schedules and select suitable varieties to achieve consistent crop quality and yield.
n
Oversee crop establishment, propagation, planting and transplanting activities.
n
Monitor crop health and coordinate pruning, de-budding, training and other plant maintenance activities.
n
Manage irrigation and fertigation programs to ensure crops receive appropriate water and nutrients throughout the growing cycle.
n
Monitor crops for pests, diseases and weeds and coordinate appropriate treatment and control measures.
n
Oversee day-to-day farm operations, including crop maintenance, harvesting, grading, packing and storage of produce.
n
Monitor soil and growing conditions and implement appropriate measures to maintain crop health and productivity.
n
Coordinate the handling, storage and dispatch of harvested produce to maintain quality and meet supply requirements.
n
Oversee the maintenance and operation of farm infrastructure and equipment, including irrigation systems, greenhouses, machinery and storage facilities.
n
Maintain accurate records of planting, crop treatments,



spray programs, production volumes and crop yields.
n
Plan and monitor farm operating requirements, including labour, equipment and agricultural inputs.
n
Supervise and coordinate farm workers and contractors during planting, crop maintenance and harvesting activities.
n
Implement measures to manage seasonal and environmental risks affecting crop production.
n
Ensure farm activities comply with workplace health and safety requirements, including the safe use of chemicals, machinery and agricultural equipment.
n
Qualifications and Skills: n
n
Have at least relevant AQF Cert III or Cert IV qualifications and Have 2 Years of working experience in a similar role in a farm setting. or equivalent or 3 years of employment experience with formal training OR 5 years of experience without formal training.
n
Strong understanding of agricultural production processes.
n
Attention to detail and quick decision-making to address quality issues, equipment failures, and operational challenges.
n
Proficiency in quality control and adherence to standards.
n
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
n
Ability to coordinate with various departments and ensure compliance with regulations.
n
Possess a keen eye for detail to oversee product quality.
n
Solid organizational skills are also essential for managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
n
n
Salary- $75,000 - $85,000 Per annum
