Ambrose Estate is a busy, award-winning venue located on the beautiful Wembley Golf Course, featuring a modern restaurant and a spacious function centre that hosts weddings, corporate events, seminars and golf days.

We are looking for a reliable and experienced
Functions Duty Manager
to lead and coordinate functions across the venue. This role is hands‐on and focused on floor operations — perfect for someone who thrives in a quick‐paced environment and enjoys being involved in the action.
n
You will work closely with the Head Of Events and other Duty Managers, playing a key role in ensuring every event runs smoothly from set‐up to pack‐down.
What You'll Be Doing n
Overseeing and running all functions, including weddings, corporate events and social gatherings
n
Coordinating room set‐ups and pack‐downs
n
Taking ownership of floor operations and continuously looking for ways to improve processes and service
n
Leading and supporting the FOH team during events
n
Delivering staff briefings and providing guidance during service
n
Liaising with the kitchen and operations teams to ensure smooth event flow
n




Maintaining clear and accurate communication about bookings and event details
n
Working restaurant shifts as needed to provide support
n
Ensuring all WHS procedures, checks and reporting requirements are completed
What We're Looking For n
Experience running functions/events with a level of seniority (e.g. Supervisor or Duty Manager level)
n
Confident leading a team and coordinating busy event operations
n
Strong communication and organisational skills
n
Hands‐on, energetic and happy to jump in wherever needed
n
Availability to work weekends and late nights
