About the Opportunityn
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Project Engineer to join our Capricorn Copper operation near Mount Isa in Queensland. This site-based role forms part of the Restart Study Team, reports to the Senior Project Manager and operates on an 8:6 roster.

Your focus will be on providing engineering and project leadership to plan and deliver capital and sustaining projects that support the safe restart and long-term performance of the Capricorn Copper mine.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
n

Leading the delivery of capital and sustaining projects across the site.
n
Providing expert engineering leadership across all project phases to ensure design integrity, constructability, and maintainability.
n
Planning and justifying capital projects, including cost estimation, scheduling, and resource planning.
n
Managing consultants, contractors, and suppliers to deliver safe, high-quality, and cost-effective outcomes.
n
Overseeing project governance, including cost control, reporting, change management, and compliance with safety, site, and corporate standards.
n




Mentoring and developing engineers and project teams, while fostering a safety-focused, high-performance culture.
n
About Youn
Our ideal candidate will have solid project engineering experience, with proven capability to deliver end-to-end projects in mining, minerals processing, infrastructure, or a related heavy industry.

Other key skills, experience, and qualifications:
n
n
Bachelor's degree (or diploma) in Engineering.
n
Strong understanding of mechanical systems and mine site infrastructure.
n
Experience working across civil, structural, and electrical engineering interfaces.
n
Proficiency with engineering and project tools, including AutoCAD, Navisworks, and MS Project.
n
C-class manual driver's licence.
n

Capricorn Copper is a high-grade underground mine with a strong history of copper and silver production. Its substantial ore reserves and further exploration potential support a mine life of more than 10 years.
n
Following an extreme weather event, operations were suspended in ****, but significant investment is underway to support recovery and expansion. The Queensland Government has declared the Capricorn Copper Recovery and Extension Project a prescribed and critical infrastructure project, and a restart feasibility study is now underway. Together, these developments represent significant progress towards a potential return to production.
