Mount Isa Mines is seeking a skilled and motivated Superintendent – Fixed Plant Maintenance and Operations to join the Fixed Plant Maintenance team at George Fisher Mine.
n
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional looking to broaden their technical knowledge and further develop their leadership capability. Reporting to the Manager – Maintenance, you will lead a multidisciplinary team, oversee Supervisors and mechanical projects, and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
n
You will model our agreed behaviours, promote a strong safety culture and support the delivery of safe, reliable and efficient fixed plant maintenance outcomes.

This is a residential position based in Mount Isa, working a lifestyle 5/2, 4/3 roster—a nine-day fortnight.

Key Responsibilities n
n
Promote and reinforce a culture of safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement.
n
Lead, engage and motivate a multidisciplinary maintenance team.
n
Provide leadership and support to Supervisors within your area of responsibility.
n
Oversee the maintenance and reliability of fixed plant equipment to support safe and consistent performance.
n
Ensure maintenance activities align with the relevant asset management plans, including statutory and shutdown requirements.
n
Develop and implement maintenance strategies to minimise downtime and maximise equipment availability.
n
Oversee mechanical projects and ensure they are delivered safely, effectively and within agreed parameters.
n
Work collaboratively with operational and functional teams to achieve production, maintenance and reliability objectives.
n
Manage budgets, resources and maintenance priorities effectively.
n
Identify and manage maintenance-related risks in accordance with company standards and procedures.
n
Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
n
Model and promote the behaviours expected across the team and broader business.
n




About you To be successful in this role, you will have: n
n
Five to seven years' experience in a comparable maintenance leadership role.
n
Relevant qualifications in engineering, maintenance management or a related discipline.
n
Significant experience in underground mining inclusive of crushing and hoisting systems.
n
Experience leading and engaging multidisciplinary teams.
n
A strong understanding of fixed plant maintenance, reliability and asset management principles.
n
A thorough understanding of risk management in a maintenance environment.
n
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
n
Highly developed leadership, influencing and relationship-building skills.
n
A proactive, outcomes-focused approach with a high level of integrity.
n
The ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively across teams.
n
