Female Disability Support Workers
to join our team in Sunbury, VIC. This is a
casual position
that offers flexibility whilst making a meaningful difference in the lives of people with disabilities. As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with disabilities, helping them to live as independently as possible and participate fully in their communities. This role is fundamental to our mission of delivering compassionate, person-centred care that respects the dignity and autonomy of every individual we support. The successful applicant will provide support within the participant's home and community. The support workers must be comfortable working with animals in the home especially the family dogs.

Provide in-home support and trauma informed care to participants in the Sunbury area
n
n
Support within the participant's home and community
n
n
Community access and daily activities
n
n
Support for community mobility and transport
n
n
Follow strict environmental and chemical restrictions
n
n




Recognise early signs of escalation and provide de-escalation support
n
n
Communicate calmly and clearly
n
n
Provide consistent, person-centred support
n
n
Follow detailed support plans, risk management strategies and professional guidance
n
n
n

n
Previous Disability Support Worker experience – essential
n
n
Experience supporting behaviours of concern and complex support needs
n
n
Confidence working within a 1:1 support model
n
n
Strong understanding of de-escalation and positive behaviour support strategies
n
n
A calm, patient and consistent approach
n
n
Ability to recognise changes in behaviour, communication and emotional regulation
n
n
Explicit English communication skills, both verbal and written
n
n
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build genuine rapport
n
n
Current Medication
Administration/Medication
Management competency and compliance
n
n
Ability to safely follow medication procedures, documentation requirements and participant support plans
n
n
