Queensland Seafood Industry Association – Brisbane QLD
We're looking for an Operations Manager to drive membership growth, sponsorship and advertising revenue, and the delivery of funded industry projects - while also supporting the Executive Officer with QSIA's statutory Secretary functions, governance and reporting, and managing day-to-day bookkeeping. It's a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys relationship-building as much as they enjoy getting the details right.
Key responsibilities
Grow and retain QSIA's membership base across the fishing, processing, marketing and allied-business sectors
Secure and manage sponsorship and advertising partnerships to grow non-membership revenue
Identify and pursue further fundraising opportunities for QSIA
Attend and help deliver QSIA-hosted events, including the AGM, member events and port visits
Manage funded projects and programs end-to-end, including grant writing and funding submissions
Assist the Executive Officer with the statutory Secretary functions under the Associations Incorporation Act **** (Qld), including Board and AGM administration, minutes and records
Maintain QSIA's financial records and bookkeeping, and support the Treasurer and external accountant
Prepare regular reports for the Executive Officer and Board, and report on performance across all areas
About you
Experience in business development, membership growth or sales — ideally within an association, not-for-profit or member-based organisation

A track record of managing projects from scoping through to delivery and reporting
Bookkeeping experience, including MYOB or a comparable accounting system
Comfort with (or willingness to quickly learn) association governance, compliance and meeting administration
A self-starter who knows what to do and gets it done, with minimal supervision
Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills
Excellent written and verbal communication, with sharp attention to detail
A current Queensland driver's licence and willingness to travel to regional and coastal communities and attend QSIA events, including some outside normal hours
Desirable: Experience in the seafood, fishing, agriculture or primary-production sectors
Desirable: Familiarity with FRDC or Queensland Government grant and funding processes
About us
The Queensland Seafood Industry Association (QSIA) is the peak body representing Queensland's commercial wild-catch fishing industry. We advocate for our members, support sustainable fisheries management, and champion the QLD Catch brand to grow consumer trust in local, wild-caught seafood.
A adaptable, remote-friendly role with genuine variety across growth, projects and operations
Work at the heart of Queensland's seafood industry, supporting the people who bring local, sustainable seafood to market
Direct exposure to Board-level governance and strategic decision-making
