Mechanical Designer
12-Month Contract | Competitive Hourly Rate | Industrial & Fixed Plant Projects

nAn engineering and project delivery organisation is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to join a collaborative design team supporting a portfolio of industrial and infrastructure projects.n
nWorking within a team of experienced designers and reporting to the Design Manager, you will be responsible for producing high-quality 2D and 3D design deliverables for fixed plant mechanical systems and associated infrastructure.n
nThe role You will contribute to the design and documentation of a range of mechanical systems and equipment while working closely with engineers, project teams and stakeholders.n
nKey responsibilitiesn
n
Prepare detailed 2D and 3D mechanical design deliverables.
n
Develop and maintain engineering models and design documentation.
n
Produce layouts, general arrangements, fabrication drawings and project documentation.
n
Coordinate with engineering and project teams to ensure design quality and project requirements are met.
n
Participate in design reviews and model reviews.
n
Support project delivery from concept development through to detailed design.
n
Maintain compliance with project standards and drafting procedures.

n
Demonstrated experience as a Mechanical Designer within industrial, resources,



infrastructure or heavy industry environments.
n
Strong 2D and 3D design capability.
n
Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams.
n
Ability to produce accurate and high-quality design documentation.
n
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
n
Ability to manage multiple deliverables and work to project deadlines.
n
Technical experience Experience in the design and documentation of fixed plant infrastructure is highly regarded, including:n

Pumping stations
n
Tank systems
n
Conveyor systems
n
Mechanical plant equipment
n
Bulk materials handling infrastructure
n
Industrial processing facilities
n
Software experience Candidates should have experience with:n

MicroStation
n
2D and 3D modelling and drafting platforms
n
