Isadraulics
is looking for a trade-qualified Machinist to join our established workshop team in Mount Isa.
This isn't a repetitive production machining role.
You'll be working across a variety of machining and hydraulic repair tasks, manufacturing and restoring components used in demanding industrial and mining applications.
With approximately 90% of our work supporting the mining industry, you'll have the opportunity to apply your skills to a diverse range of equipment and repair challenges.
You'll be joining a close-knit team of around 25 people, where practical experience, teamwork and quality workmanship are valued.
What You'll Be Doing
Operating manual lathes, milling machines and other workshop equipment
Machining, repairing and manufacturing hydraulic components
Performing cylinder honing and associated repair work
Manufacturing replacement parts from engineering drawings or existing samples
Supporting hydraulic cylinder repairs, including re-rod and re-barrel work
Using precision measuring equipment to ensure accuracy and quality
Working alongside the workshop team to deliver safe, practical and reliable repair solutions
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a capable, hands-on Machinist with strong manual machining skills and a practical approach to problem-solving.
Ideally, you'll bring:
A relevant trade qualification in machining or a related discipline
Proven experience operating manual lathes and milling machines
The ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacture components from samples
Confidence working with precision measuring equipment and machining tolerances




Strong attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
The ability to work both independently and as part of a small team
Current Australian working rights
Experience with hydraulic cylinder repairs, cylinder honing, fabrication, re-rods or re-barrels would be highly regarded.
You don't necessarily need to come from a hydraulics background.
If you've got robust manual machining skills and is willing to learn, we'd still be interested in hearing from you.
