D’Arcy Weil is recruiting an Investment Analyst, Distributed Energy on behalf of a major integrated energy business. Based in Sydney or Brisbane within the commercial finance function, the role improves the quality of investment decisions across a growing distributed energy portfolio throughout Australia, including:

- Researching energy markets, investment trends and regulatory developments to identify and evaluate recent opportunities
- Building and maintaining the financial models and forecasts that form the analytical basis for each decision
- Assessing how current investments are performing, and recommending adjustments that keep the portfolio aligned to its objectives
- Working with clients and internal partners to clarify investment goals and risk parameters
- Producing reports and presentations that turn complex analysis into clear, decision-ready outputs

The work suits an analyst who combines market understanding with a disciplined modelling approach and can adapt the message to each audience.

The Role

- Opportunity analysis: Research energy markets, track investment trends and monitor regulatory developments to identify and evaluate new investment opportunities that suit the business’s strategic direction
- Financial modelling: Build and maintain detailed financial models and forecasts that form the analytical basis for investment decisions across the portfolio
- Portfolio oversight: Assess the ongoing performance of current investments, surface issues and develop recommendations for adjustments that keep the portfolio aligned to objectives
- Stakeholder engagement:



Work with clients and internal partners to clarify investment goals and risk parameters, and adapt analysis and advice to each stakeholder’s context
- Reporting: Produce investment reports and presentations for internal and external audiences, translating complex analysis into clear, decision-ready outputs
- Market awareness: Maintain a current understanding of energy sector developments, economic conditions and regulatory change, and feed it into ongoing investment analysis

About You

- A background in investment analysis, financial modelling or a closely related analytical discipline
- Familiarity with energy markets, distributed energy infrastructure or comparable asset classes advantageous
- Strong financial modelling and Excel capability
- A clear, confident communicator who can present findings to senior audiences
- Commercial awareness and sound analytical judgement
