About LionHouse and Skilled Care

You will be employed by LionHouse and deliver training through Skilled Care, RTO 31942.

Skilled Care works with employers across aged care, home care and disability, combining workforce recruitment with nationally recognised training.

Our workplace-based approach helps learners develop their knowledge and practical skills while gaining experience in care environments. As a trainer and assessor, you will support their progress, helping them understand good care practice and apply their learning confidently.

What you’ll be doing

Your role will combine face-to-face training at client facilities with practical assessment, learner support and training administration.

You will:

- Plan and deliver engaging classroom and practical training sessions.

- Demonstrate care skills and use your industry experience to explain how learning applies in the workplace.

- Conduct assessments and workplace observations within your approved delivery allocation.

- Provide clear, constructive feedback and support learners as they work towards their qualification.

- Identify learners who need additional assistance and work with the team to coordinate appropriate support.

- Build effective relationships with facility managers, workplace supervisors and buddies.

- Complete marking, assessment records and learner documentation accurately and on time.

- Manage your schedule and travel between client facilities, primarily across the Central Coast and Newcastle.

- Work collaboratively with colleagues to improve training delivery and the learner experience.

What you’ll bring

A nursing qualification and current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse are strongly preferred.

We will also consider applicants with other relevant care-sector qualifications and substantial industry experience who can demonstrate suitability for the training and assessment involved.

You will also need:

- An accepted training and assessment credential, such as TAE40122 or TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or another credential accepted under the current ASQA Credential Policy.

- Relevant vocational competence and current industry skills and knowledge appropriate to the training you will deliver.

- The ability to explain concepts clearly, demonstrate practical skills and adapt your teaching to different learners.

- A supportive approach to mentoring, feedback and learner development.

- Robust organisation, written communication and attention to detail.

- Confidence using digital learning, assessment and administration systems.

- The ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with colleagues and client facilities.

- A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel.

- Experience delivering nationally recognised training and assessment within an RTO will be highly regarded.

Your credentials, vocational competence and industry currency will be reviewed against the requirements of the proposed training allocation.
