About the role

Wellington Lodge Pty Ltd is seeking a General Groundskeeper to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is based in Wellington East, SA 5259 and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to maintaining and enhancing the outdoor spaces at our property. As General Groundskeeper, you will play a vital role in ensuring our grounds remain attractive, protected and well-maintained, directly contributing to the overall appearance and functionality of our facilities.

What you'll be doing

- Performing regular lawn mowing and grass maintenance using appropriate equipment

- Weeding garden beds, removing unwanted vegetation and maintaining landscape areas

- Planting, pruning and caring for trees, shrubs and flowering plants

- Maintaining pathways, driveways and outdoor surfaces through cleaning and general upkeep

- Operating and maintaining gardening equipment and tools in safe working condition

- Monitoring irrigation systems and ensuring appropriate watering schedules are followed

- Removing rubbish, leaves and debris from outdoor areas

- Undertaking seasonal garden maintenance tasks such as mulching and soil preparation

- Following health and safety procedures and maintaining a clean working environment

- Reporting any damage to grounds or equipment to management

What we're looking for

- Proven experience in gardening, landscaping or groundskeeping work

- Knowledge of general gardening practices, including plant care, lawn maintenance and seasonal tasks

- Competency in operating common gardening equipment such as mowers, strimmers and hedge trimmers





- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions

- Attention to detail and pride in delivering quality work

- Good time management and ability to work independently

- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures relevant to groundskeeping

- A positive, reliable attitude and commitment to completing tasks

- Relevant qualifications or certifications in horticulture or landscaping would be advantageous
