MTP Services is seeking an experienced Intranet Uplift Lead to support a major Australian Federal Government agency with the redesign and improvement of its SharePoint intranet.

The successful candidate will lead a user-centred intranet uplift, initially focusing on HR content, with the objective of improving information accessibility, content findability, navigation and the overall employee experience.

This role will suit someone with strong experience in enterprise intranet transformation, information architecture, content strategy and stakeholder engagement, who can lead delivery from initial discovery through to implementation and ongoing governance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the strategy, design and implementation of a SharePoint intranet uplift, ensuring alignment with business priorities and employee needs.
- Improve information architecture, including site navigation, taxonomy, metadata, enterprise search and content findability.
- Conduct user research, co-design workshops and usability testing to improve the overall employee experience.
- Lead content audits, rationalisation, remediation and migration activities to improve content quality and accessibility.
- Develop and implement content governance frameworks, including content ownership, publishing standards and lifecycle management.
- Work closely with HR, business stakeholders, content owners and technical teams to coordinate delivery.
- Drive organisational change and adoption through stakeholder engagement, communications, training and knowledge transfer.
- Establish success measures and use analytics, user feedback and performance data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Ensure intranet content and design meet accessibility standards, including WCAG requirements.

Essential Skills and Experience:

- Demonstrated experience leading the redesign,



uplift or implementation of an enterprise intranet or digital workplace within a large or complex organisation.
- Strong knowledge of SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365, with the ability to work effectively alongside technical specialists.
- Expertise in information architecture, navigation, taxonomy, metadata, enterprise search and content findability.
- Experience applying user-centred design principles, including user research, co-design and usability testing.
- Strong understanding of content strategy, content design, plain English and task-based digital content.
- Experience managing large-scale content audits, rationalisation, remediation and migration.
- Demonstrated ability to establish sustainable content governance, ownership and lifecycle management frameworks.
- Robust understanding of digital accessibility, inclusive design and WCAG requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation and communication skills.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary digital projects involving business, content, UX, change and technical teams.
- Experience supporting organisational change, user adoption, training and capability uplift.
- Ability to use analytics, feedback and measurable outcomes to drive continuous improvement.

Highly Desirable:

- Previous experience delivering intranet or digital workplace projects within the Australian Public Service, government or another regulated environment.
- Experience supporting large, geographically dispersed or operationally diverse organisations.
- Knowledge of Viva Connections, Microsoft Teams, Viva Engage and the broader Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
- Experience working with SharePoint developers, enterprise architects, vendors and technology teams.
- Understanding of Australian Government accessibility, privacy, security, records management and information governance requirements.
- Experience developing training materials, content standards, templates and guidance for intranet publishers.
- Familiarity with recognised change management methodologies.
