Looking to take your Heavy Diesel career into underground mining?

I'm looking for a Heavy Diesel Fitter to join an established underground hard rock mine near Bendigo in regional Victoria.

n

You don't need previous underground mining experience for this one. If you're a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic with solid experience across mobile plant, earthmoving or similar heavy equipment, the site can provide the training and support to get you up to speed underground.

n

This is a permanent, long-term position offering an even-time 7:7 roster, consistent hours and the opportunity to build your mining experience without having to travel interstate.

The Site n

Join an established underground operation with a long mine life, supportive management and a close-knit maintenance team.

n

The site employs approximately 250 people and offers a stable environment for tradespeople looking to establish a long-term career in underground mining.

The Role n

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you'll join an experienced mobile maintenance team responsible for keeping the underground fleet running safely and reliably.

n

Initially, you'll spend time within the workshop before progressing into underground field and breakdown work once trained and competent.

n

Your day-to-day will include:

n

- Scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
n
- Breakdown repairs and fault finding
n
- Component change-outs and repairs
n
- Diagnostics across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
n
- Workshop-based maintenance
n
- Underground field service and breakdown support
n
- Working both autonomously and alongside the wider maintenance team
n

The Equipment n

You'll gain exposure to a wide-ranging underground mobile fleet including:

- Underground mining trucks
n
- Loaders / boggers
n
- Drills
n
- Integrated tool carriers
n

n





This gives you the opportunity to develop across a much broader range of equipment rather than working on the same machines day in, day out.

The Roster n

Enjoy an even-time roster giving you a full week off between swings:

n

n
- 7 days on / 7 days off / 7 nights on / 7 days off
n
- Wednesday to Tuesday rotation
n
- 12-hour shifts
n

Your Skills & Experience n

This role will suit a qualified Heavy Diesel Fitter with strong mobile plant experience who is either already working within mining or looking to make the move underground.

You'll bring:

n

- Strong experience working across mobile plant equipment
n
- Background in earthmoving, civil, heavy equipment or mining
n
- Good mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic ability
n
- Strong understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems
n
- Confidence carrying out servicing, repairs and component change-outs
n
- Strong safety focus
n
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a maintenance team
n
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn underground equipment and systems
n

Previous underground mining experience is highly regarded but isn't essential.
