We are looking for an experienced Safety Advisor to join our site team and play an integral role in maintaining strong safety standards across the operation.

About the role n

This is a hands‑on site-based Safety Advisor position. Working closely with supervisors, managers and the broader site-based maintenance team, you’ll provide practical safety support, help maintain compliance and contribute to a solid safety culture while supporting the day‑to‑day administration required to keep the site running effectively.

Your responsibilities will include: n

- Providing practical and technical HSE support to site leadership and operational teams
n
- Promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with Mackellar policies, procedures and legislative requirements
n
- Conducting site inspections, audits and safety observations
n
- Supporting incident and investigation processes and ensuring corrective actions are effectively closed out
n
- Assisting with the development, review and implementation of site-specific safety procedures and initiatives
n
- Monitoring compliance with the HSE Management System
n
- Supporting risk assessments, hazard identification and control implementation
n
- Providing safety advice and guidance to supervisors and employees
n
- Maintaining safety records, registers, reporting and other site documentation
n
- Assisting with safety reporting,



document control and general site administration
n
- Building strong working relationships across the site to support safe and productive operations
n

About you n

We’re looking for an experienced Safety Advisor who is confident working in a coal mining environment and can build effective relationships with operational teams.

You will have: n

n
- Previous experience as a Safety Advisor within a coal mining workplace
n
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety
n
- Current G1, G8, G9 and G2 , or willingness to obtain
n
- Current Queensland Driver Licence
n
- Strong understanding of HSE systems, risk management and legislative requirements
n
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
n
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
n
- The ability to work independently while also supporting supervisors and site leadership
n
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to safety
n

n

Only candidates with relevant coal mining experience and the required qualifications will be considered.
