About the role: n
This is not your typical laboratory position. This is a hands‑on role in a warehouse environment, not a traditional lab position.
n
You’ll work with a wide range of industrial chemicals, learning from experienced chemists and operators. Your main focus will be safely identifying, classifying and preparing chemicals for treatment.
n
We’re looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong work ethic and a genuine willingness to learn. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
Duties: n
n
- Sort and classify incoming packaged chemical waste
n
- Assist with identifying unknown chemicals through testing procedures
n
- Safely handle, decant and prepare chemicals for disposal
n
- Pack laboratory chemicals for destruction
n
- Work closely with operators,
drivers and site personnel to ensure safe chemical handling
n
- Follow strict safety procedures and wear PPE including respirators, chemical suits and face shields where required
n
- Assist with general warehouse and manual handling duties
n
Skills & experience: nn
- Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline
n
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
n
- Comfortable working in PPE and a warehouse environment
n
- Physically capable of manual handling tasks
n
- Previous warehouse, manufacturing, retail or hospitality experience and forklift license will be highly regarded
n
- Knowledge of safe chemical handling is advantageous but not essential
n
