Position Title: Cashier

Position Summary: The Cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service by accurately and efficiently processing customer transactions, handling payments, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. This role plays a critical part in creating a positive shopping experience for customers and ensuring the smooth operation of the store. General Purpose: To ensure a seamless checkout process by scanning items, handling cash and card transactions, assisting with customer inquiries, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Position Responsibilities: n

- Accurately scan and ring up customer items in a timely manner.
n
- Handle customer payments, including cash, credit, and debit transactions, and provide correct change when necessary.
n
- Process returns, exchanges, and gift card transactions in accordance with store policies.
n
- Offer assistance to customers by answering questions, providing store information, and resolving any concerns.
n
- Bag groceries in a way that protects items and makes them easy for customers to carry.
n
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout counter, including ensuring that all items are neatly arranged.
n
- Follow store policies for the sale of age-restricted items, such as alcohol or tobacco.
n
- Keep track of the register drawer, ensuring it is balanced at the beginning and end of each shift.
n
- Alert management to any register discrepancies or customer service issues that require attention.
n




- Maintain a positive and friendly attitude while interacting with customers and team members.
n
- Follow all safety protocols and store policies to ensure a secure working environment.
n
- Assist with other tasks as needed, such as restocking shelves or helping customers find products.
n

Qualifications: nn
- Previous experience in customer service or retail is preferred but not required.
n
- Basic math skills and the ability to handle cash and electronic payments accurately.
n
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively with customers.
n
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
n
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
n
- Attention to detail and ability to follow store policies and procedures.

- Ability to stand for long periods and lift or carry light to moderate loads.
