State Manager - Transport & Logistics n

South Australia | $150,000 + Super | Full-Time

An established national transport and logistics business is seeking an experienced State Manager to take full ownership of its South Australian operation.

n

This is a senior, hands-on leadership position with responsibility for the performance of the entire SA site, overseeing drivers, subcontractors, mechanics, warehouse operations and office staff.

n

Operating across general transport, specialised freight and project logistics, the business requires a strong operational leader who can manage people, fleet performance, customers, safety and commercial outcomes while continuing to develop the South Australian operation.

n

The Role Reporting into senior management, you will have overall responsibility for the SA business, including:

n

- Full operational management of the South Australian site
n
- Leadership of drivers, subcontractors, mechanics, warehouse and office teams
n
- Oversight of fleet operations, allocation and transport performance
n
- Management of subcontractor relationships and performance
n
- Ensuring fleet availability, maintenance and operational efficiency
n
- Driving a strong culture around safety, compliance and Chain ofResponsibility
n
- Managing service delivery and key customer relationships
n
- Monitoring operational costs, productivity and overall site performance
n
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, utilisation and profitability
n
- Supporting the continued growth and development of the SA operation
n




- Working closely with senior management and other interstate operations
n

About You n

We are looking for an experienced transport leader who is comfortable taking ownership of an entire operation.

n

You will ideally bring:

n

n
- Previous experience as a State Manager, Branch Manager, Operations Manager or senior transport leader
n
- Strong experience within road transport, logistics, heavy haulage, project logistics or a similar environment
n
- Demonstrated experience managing a diverse operational workforce
n
- Strong understanding of fleet operations, drivers and subcontractor management
n
- Knowledge of transport safety, compliance and Chain of Responsibility
n
- Commercial awareness with the ability to manage costs and operational performance
n
- Robust customer and stakeholder management skills
n
- A practical, hands-on leadership style
n
- The ability to make decisions and take accountability for an entire site
n
