Located within Taronga Zoo and alongside the Wildlife Retreat at Taronga, Me-Gal is a destination restaurant offering an elevated yet relaxed dining experience, with sweeping views across Sydney Harbour.

This December, Me-Gal will enter an exciting new chapter. Following a major renovation, the restaurant will relaunch with a new dining concept, refreshed interiors, and a new menu and culinary direction developed in collaboration with one of Australia’s most respected chefs.

Celebrating Australian produce, generous food, and genuine hospitality, the new Me-Gal will bring together its extraordinary location, connection to the Zoo, and a distinctly Australian approach to dining.

The Opportunity

You will lead from the front, creating an environment where high standards,



genuine hospitality, and attention to detail are part of everyday service.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Leading, developing, and coaching the management and service teams
- Setting and maintaining consistently high standards across the venue
- Creating a positive, qualified, and accountable team culture
- Delivering regular training and meaningful performance feedback
- Building a service culture based on awareness, timing, and genuine connection
- Managing rosters, labour, and staffing levels in line with trade and budget
- Maintaining strong operational, financial, and compliance standards
- Assisting senior leadership in overseeing guest feedback, reservations, events, and group bookings
- Taking ownership of venue presentation, stock control, and daily operations
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations

About You

You will be an experienced hospitality leader with a proven track record as a Restaurant Manager, Venue Manager, or Senior Assistant Manager in hatted restaurants. You have a genuine passion for hospitality and a natural ability to connect with guests and your team.

You are confident in developing a team, setting clear expectations, and maintaining high standards while remaining calm and present on the floor. Sound knowledge of RSA, WHS, and hospitality compliance is essential, and experience with restaurant technology, reservations, POS, and payroll systems will be beneficial.
