We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a major industrial capital program in Western Australia. Working as part of a multidisciplinary project team, you will play a key role in delivering brownfield engineering projects across complex processing facilities.n
nThis is a site-based position initially, offering the opportunity to work closely with operations and project stakeholders while contributing to the delivery of significant asset improvement and capital works initiatives. A hybrid arrangement may be available once established in the role.n
Key Responsibilities n
n
- Deliver mechanical engineering solutions in accordance with statutory, regulatory and industry standards.
n
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical documentation, drawings and design deliverables.
n
- Develop practical, fit-for-purpose solutions from concept through to commissioning and handover.
n
- Participate in HAZIDs, HAZOPs, Safety in Design workshops and technical reviews.
n
- Identify, assess and manage engineering and asset lifecycle risks.
n
- Support project planning, estimating and scope development activities.
n
- Coordinate engineering activities to meet project schedules and budget requirements.
n
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers and designers.
n
- Manage technical queries, change control processes and quality assurance requirements.
n
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practice.
n
About You To be successful in this role you will possess: n
n
n
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
n
- Minimum 8 years' experience within mining, minerals processing, refining, heavy industry or related sectors.
n
- Demonstrated experience leading mechanical engineering activities on brownfield projects.
n
- Solid understanding of all phases of project delivery from concept through to execution.
n
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
n
You will have proven expertise in several of the following areas: n

n
- Equipment layout and plant design.
n
- Pumping and piping systems.
n
- Slurry transport and fluid system analysis.
n
- Pipe stress analysis.
n
- Pressure equipment design.
n
- Materials handling systems.
n
- Interpretation of mechanical, piping and P&ID; drawings.
n
Experience with software such as AFT Fathom, FluidFlow, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Adobe Suite and the Microsoft Office suite will be highly regarded.n
