Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Light Vehicle Motor Mechanic to join the team at Bondys Auto Centre in Jamisontown, NSW. This is a full time position where you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing light vehicles to the highest standards. As a key member of our automotive service team, you will be responsible for diagnosing mechanical issues, performing repairs and maintenance work, and ensuring that all vehicles meet safety and performance standards before they leave our facility. This role is essential to our commitment to delivering exceptional service to our valued customers.

Key responsibilities n

Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in light vehicles using diagnostic equipment and technical expertise

n

Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups and tyre servicing

n

Repair and replace faulty components such as brakes, suspension systems, engines and transmissions

n

Conduct vehicle inspections and identify any safety concerns or potential issues

n

Complete accurate job sheets and maintain detailed records of all work performed

n

Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair findings, timelines and costs

n

Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer specifications and industry standards

n

Maintain a safe and clean working environment in accordance with health and safety regulations

n

Assist in training and mentoring junior team members as required

What we're looking for n

Current automotive mechanic qualifications or equivalent demonstrated experience in light vehicle servicing and repairs

n

Proven experience as a motor mechanic, preferably specialising in light vehicles

n

Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanical, electrical and diagnostic systems

n

Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and modern workshop tools





n

Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record

n

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

n

Strong communication and customer service abilities

n

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

n

Commitment to workplace health and safety practices

n

Relevant certifications such as Light Vehicle Mechanical Trade Certificate or equivalent qualifications are highly desirable
