Test Operator – Quality & Laboratory – Steel Industry n

Play a key role in ensuring product quality, compliance and continuous improvement across a leading steel manufacturing environment.

We’re looking for a hands‑on Test Operator to join the laboratory and quality team, responsible for the daily testing of manufactured products and ensuring results are accurately recorded, reviewed and reported.

n

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a practical laboratory environment and wants to build their experience across testing, quality assurance, technical support and continuous improvement.

What you’ll be doing: n

- Collecting and preparing product samples from manufacturing operations
n
- Conducting tensile and re‑bend testing across a range of products
n
- Reviewing test results and identifying non‑conforming product
n
- Accurately recording and reporting test results within required timeframes
n
- Preparing data for quality and compliance reporting
n
- Supporting investigations into non‑conforming products
n
- Providing technical support to manufacturing, R&D; and new product development
n
- Supporting internal and external audits
n
- Identifying opportunities to improve laboratory processes, efficiency and quality outcomes
n




- Following laboratory procedures and the requirements of AS ISO/IEC 17025
n
- Maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and regulatory compliance
n

- Experience in a laboratory, testing, manufacturing or quality environment
n
- Robust attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing and data recording
n
- An understanding of quality systems, testing procedures and compliance requirements
n
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
n
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider team
n
- A proactive approach to identifying issues and driving continuous improvement
n
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
n
