Job Description

We are seeking an Occupational Therapist with mental health and dementia or geriatric experience to join an innovative aged care allied health team in Geelong, VIC. You will support older people living with dementia and mental health conditions, delivering person-centred assessment and therapy that improves function, engagement and quality of life. You will work closely with nursing, lifestyle and allied health colleagues in a cooperative, multidisciplinary environment.

- Complete comprehensive assessments of cognition, mental health, function and behaviour
- Design and deliver individualised, evidence-based interventions, both 1:1 and in groups
- Support residents with behaviours of concern through person-centred, non-pharmacological approaches
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team on care planning and case discussions
- Coach and support care staff to sustain meaningful activity and engagement
- Monitor outcomes and reassess progress using standardised measures
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

About The Candidate

- Bachelor or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current AHPRA registration
- Experience in mental health and dementia or geriatric care (essential)
- Experience working in aged care or with older people (desirable)
- Person-centred, cooperative approach with strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team
- Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to obtain)
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Eligible to work permanently in Australia

Work Environment

- $85-100k + super, depending on experience
