Join Our Team as a Casual Dental Hygienist n

Are you a passionate Dental Hygienist looking for a meaningful role? We’re currently seeking a skilled and dedicated professional to join our friendly team picking up Casual shifts at Lavarack Health Centre, located in Townsville.

About The Role n

As a valued member of our dental team, you’ll play a vital role in promoting and maintaining the oral health of ADF personnel, delivering high-quality care in a well-supported clinical environment. You will pick up Shifts between Monday to Friday 0730 to 1600.

In This Role, You Will n

n
- Deliver oral hygiene advice and treatments in line with Defence policies
n
- Perform periodontal charting, root planing, implant maintenance, and other routine procedures
n
- Take and interpret prescribed radiographs (intra/extra oral)
n
- Promote infection control and maintain surgical hygiene to national standards
n
- Manage patient care, referrals, records, bookings, and recalls
n
- Support clinical governance, quality improvement activities, and equipment upkeep
n
- Play an active role in ensuring the best possible outcomes for your patients
n

In partnership with Bupa, Serco supports the Australian Defence Force across 50+ bases nationwide. Our team at Lavarack Health Centre provides primary medical, underwater medical, surgical outpatient, dental,



nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical care to approximately 8000 members.

What You Will Need to Be Successful in the Role n

n
- A recognised qualification in Dental Hygiene (or Oral Health Therapy)
n
- Current unconditional and unrestricted registration with AHPRA
n
- At least 2 years of experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a clinical setting
n
- Proven ability to perform a wide range of dental hygiene procedures independently
n
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative team approach
n
- High standards in infection control and patient care
n
- Australian Citizenship – required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Defence Security Clearance
n
