Rockhampton Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinical Midwife to join the Maternity ward on a 13-week contract from 30 November 2026 to 28 February 2027. This is an opportunity to bring your clinical expertise and leadership skills to a busy maternity service in Rockhampton, QLD, supporting the team across antenatal, postnatal, and birth suite care. The role is classified at NRG 6 and offers the chance to make a real difference in a high-acuity clinical environment.

- Lead clinical care across antenatal, postnatal, and birth suite settings with scope for advanced practice
- 13-week fixed-term contract with a explicit start and end date, ideal for experienced midwives seeking flexibility
- Opportunity to apply advanced skills including suturing, neonatal resuscitation, and IV cannulation in a supportive team environment

Preferred Requirements





- Demonstrated team leader skills and the ability to support and mentor colleagues in a busy clinical setting
- Advanced clinical skills in maternity care, including antenatal and postnatal assessment and management
- Current Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation certification and competence in IV cannulation
- Suturing skills and experience in birth suite care highly desirable
- Strong clinical judgment and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Preferred Qualifications

- Current registration as a Clinical Midwife with AHPRA
- Post-graduate qualifications or demonstrated advanced competence in midwifery practice
- Current Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation certification or willingness to obtain it prior to commencement
