- Daily provision of high-level knowledge, skill and expertise in a Chemistry and moderate knowledge in stat Microbiology/Molecular within Core Laboratory.
- Daily utilisation of high-level knowledge and clinical skills in exercising independent professional judgement in critical decision making and handling of complex scientific techniques to provide a consistently high technical standard with minimal clinical supervision.
- Independently solve complex technical problems regarding equipment, instrumentation, computer related issues and procedures without clinical supervision.
- Contribute to the development of policies, procedures and technical practice within the laboratory work unit.

How you will be assessed

The essential requirements for this role are:

- Demonstrated ability to provide complex advice to laboratory staff and District Health Service clients on a broad range of issues pertaining to the laboratory work unit and/or discipline.
- Demonstrated high level of knowledge and skill in the performance of chemistry and immunoassay investigations, stat microbiology and molecular testing in a clinical pathology laboratory.
- Significant experience and knowledge the following areas - training, education, quality or troubleshooting in a clinical chemistry laboratory.
- Demonstrated clinical leadership ability and contribution to the professional development of others.
