We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our team at Big Watermelon. This is a full-time position based in Wantirna South, VIC .

What you'll be doing

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and seasonal menus

Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation

Manage kitchen station operations and maintain cleanliness and organisation of your assigned areas

Monitor food costs and portion control to support profitability

Maintain strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and health regulations

Assist in menu development and contribute creative ideas for new dishes

Receive and inspect deliveries of fresh produce and ingredients

Maintain all kitchen equipment in positive working condition and report maintenance issues

What we're looking for

Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role within a hospitality environment

Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and culinary practices

Proficiency in knife skills and food presentation





Understanding of food safety standards and HACCP principles

Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining quality standards

Strong organisational and time management skills

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays

Current or willingness to obtain relevant food handling certifications

Creative flair and passion for food innovation (preferred)

Experience with menu planning and cost management (preferred)
