Dental Nurse – Experienced & Trainee Positions

Our Dental Centres is seeking Experienced Dental Nurses/Motivated Trainees to join our growing team in Templestowe, Richmond & Prahran Victoria. This is a full-time/part-time position offering the opportunity to work in a contemporary, patient-focused dental practice. Whether you are an Experienced Dental Nurse looking for a New Challenge or a Trainee eager to develop your skills in a supportive environment, we have positions available for both levels of experience. You will play a crucial role in supporting our Dental Practitioners and ensuring exceptional patient care in every interaction.

Key responsibilities

Assisting dentists during patient treatment procedures, including chairside support and instrument passing

Preparing treatment areas, sterilising instruments and maintaining infection control standards in accordance with Australian dental guidelines

Recording patient treatment notes and maintaining accurate, confidential dental records

Welcoming patients, managing appointments and handling administrative duties with professionalism and care

Maintaining a clean and organised dental surgery workplace

Supporting the wider practice team to ensure smooth daily operations and excellent patient experiences

For experienced assistants: mentoring trainees and contributing to practice development initiatives

What we’re looking for

For Experienced Dental Nurses: Minimum of 2 years experience in a dental practice setting with proven competency in chairside assistance and sterilisation procedures

Strong knowledge of dental terminology, procedures and infection control protocols

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment

Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and practice hygiene





Proficiency with dental practice management software and administrative systems

For Trainees: No prior experience required; enthusiasm to learn and develop within the dental field is essential

Currently enrolled in or willing to enrol in an accredited Dental Assistant/Dental Nursing traineeship or qualification

Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in providing excellent patient care

Reliability, punctuality and a professional attitude

Willingness to undertake ongoing professional development and training
