The Firm

A well-established Melbourne accounting firm is looking to add an experienced Senior Accountant / Client Manager to its Business Services team.

n

This is a genuinely client-facing role suited to an experienced accountant who is ready to take greater ownership of a portfolio while remaining involved in the technical side of the work.

n

You’ll manage your own portfolio of established clients, work closely with senior leadership and have the prospect to develop further across tax planning, advisory and higher-level client work.

n

The role offers a strong balance between technical accounting and relationship management, with approximately 50% of your time focused on compliance and 50% on managing and advising clients.

Key Responsibilities n

n
- Manage a portfolio of clients valued between approximately $200k - $400k in fees.
n
- Prepare and review financial statements and income tax returns across a range of entity types.
n
- Work with privately owned businesses with annual turnover of $3m+.
n
- Manage client relationships and act as a key point of contact.
n
- Conduct regular client meetings and provide ongoing taxation and business advice.
n
- Manage and facilitate Tax Planning meetings.
n
- Review work completed by junior team members and provide ongoing guidance.
n
- Assist with business advisory, forecasting,



budgeting and management reporting depending on experience.
n
- Work closely with senior leadership on more complex client matters.
n

Requirements nn
- 6+ years of experience within Australian Public Practice accounting.
n
- Fully qualified CA or CPA.
n
- Strong experience across financial statements, tax returns and Australian taxation matters.
n
- Previous experience managing client relationships and conducting client meetings.
n
- Experience working within an established multi-Partner or multi-Director accounting firm.
n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
n
- Ability to manage your own workflow, deadlines and client portfolio.
n
- Previous experience reviewing and supporting junior accountants.
n
